Are you aware of the improvements of Humminbird Fish Finders for 2012? Well, in this article I'm going to put into view a few of the announcements regarding the system improvements that Humminbird is going to release in the upcoming year.
New Models of Humminbird Fish Finders
Fashion News
First of all there are going to be a few new Humminbird fish finding units available. The 800, 900 and 1100 series which had only two models each available, now will be enriched with a new type of fish finding unit, featuring SwitchFire and Down Imaging technology. Although any electronic fishing device from Humminbird with both Down Imaging and Side Imaging will provide you with a much accurate interpretation of the sea or lake floor, the prices for the units featuring both these capabilities are a bit spicy. So, the versions without SI will probably be a bit cheaper.
Down Imaging is a great feature to have on a fish finding device. This type of technology allows you make a very clear overview of what's under the boat, via images with photo-like clarity. This way you will know much better where to place your bait and which type of fishing would be more appropriate for a certain fishing spot. Down Imaging is quite reliable in waters with many sunken trees. Having this feature on your fish finding unit you will know precisely where to cast your fishing lines to avoid catching anything else but fish.
So, in conclusion to this paragraph, Humminbird is going to expand the DI technology on a few new Humminbird Fish Finders. There will be a 1158c DI Combo, a 958c DI Combo and a 858c DI Combo to choose from, to increase your odds of finding and catching at least a big one when you go out on water.
New Ethernet Possibilities
Currently, the superior Humminbird Fish Finders which are Ethernet compatible, have switches with only two ports. Apparently for 2012 there will be released a model of Ethernet switch with five ports, so you will be able to connect up to five other Humminbird units to your own, for sharing sonar, waypoints, maps etc.
Also, the line of fish finding GPS electronics from Humminbird that will be released in 2012 will be NMEA2000 compatible. This will allow you to connect your Humminbird unit to various other marine electronics, even if they aren't other fish finding devices, or even if they are from other manufacturers than HB. As you can see, this will make your fish finding unit much more useful, broadening its range of possibilities.
Humminbird Fish Finders With Radar?
A new feature for some of the Humminbird Fish Finders for the upcoming year is radar. Apparently the 800, 900 and 1100 series will be compatible with this radar. There will be two versions of radar, a 4kW 21-inch dome unit and a 2kW 12-inch one. This way you will be able to gather additional data for a better understanding of the environment you're fishing in, it will offer gain control, rain clutter etc.
That's about all the info I know about the new system improvements on Humminbird Fish Finders for 2012.
